Today I had the opportunity to visit some of the buildings which used to house the College of Engineering Trivandrum in world war 2 era. I
thought it will be nostalgic for many of the old timers to see their
laboratories again. These building are located behind PMG. They are
being used as go down by Government of Kerala. (My photography is pretty bad, I know.)
I was trying to clean up my hard disk. I found out this old map of Travancore. I had scanned it from the annual report of the State of Travancore.( 1940 , if my memory is correct.). It is very interesting to see the old routes , places and how the landscape of Kerala has changed over the past 70 years. Here is a high resolution image, in case you need it.
VU2ITI OM MANI and me are trying to install a HAM radio gallery at the Kerala State Science and Technology Museum(KSSTM) Trivanrum. We have obtained a club license ,VU2CLU. Some equipments have been ordered for the station. Presently, I am conducting a training program for the staff of KSSTM. They will be appearing for the ASOC examination on 30th of April.
Today, I demonstrated the use of amateur radio to the trainees. I was helped by VU2JQX OM Anil Kumar and VU3AUZ OM Allen. We installed a 40/20m dual band antenna and made some contacts on 40,20 and 2m. The band conditions were not very good . We contacted VU2MTM , VU3HPF and VU2JYU on HF . On vhf we made contacts with OM VU2MTM and VU2TNA
